National Private School (NPS) is located in Al Khuwair, Muscat, and since its inception in 1982 it has been growing steadily. The school expresses a deep sense of gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, the benevolent ruler of the Sultanate of Oman.
NPS is a private, co-educational day school and is licensed by the Omani Ministry of Education. English is taught alongside Arabic, Islamic Studies and Social Studies from the Omani curriculum to students from KG to grade 12. The school population is predominantly Omani but has students from other Middle Eastern countries. Through the vision of our first patron and Chairman of the Board, Sayed Barghash Said Mohammed Al-Said, NPS has become a premier educational institution.
It is the mission of the school to provide an educational environment where students can gain the knowledge, skills and attitude which will enable them to become successful and productive in their society. This is accomplished by providing specialist teaching and resources throughout the school. The school employs a large number of teachers from other countries, as well as local teachers. Our facilities and education motivate students to become creative and outstanding. Expectations of discipline and homework are clearly defined, but the emphasis is on motivating students to adopt a positive approach to learning.
It’s important for all members of the school’s community to feel involved in the development of its students. Parent communication is encouraged and regular parent conferences take place. Parents are encouraged to contact the school whenever there is a concern over a child.
